Pierce
Hey There
My name is McKayla Pierce. I am a creative and innovative designer. I design for the large variety of needs that people can have, especially those that people do not think about when in spaces or designing spaces. I struggle with sensitivity to certain lighting and sounds and thus I take that into account with my designs more that some other designs I have seen.
My Story
During the COVID-19 lockdown, I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do after I graduated high school. I realized that I had found the process of designing and remodeling my family's house a couple of years prior very fascinating. Then, I took a couple of interior design classes over the summer to see if I really wanted to pursue a career in this field.
I had enjoyed those classes and so started looking into where I would attend college. This led me to Concordia University - Wisconsin. I chose this school to grow in my faith and to be close to a friend. Have enjoyed my time at Concordia for the most part. They have a co-op program with MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design). I took all of my classes specific to interior design here. This was an incredibly educational time, which I think was served by being at an art-focused school.
